Carrie Bradshaw’s story recently came to a close in And Just Like That. But does that mean it’s over for good? And Just Like That Executive Producer Elisa Zuritsky remains hopeful that there may be more to Carrie’s story in the future.
The series came to a close earlier in August with a somewhat controversial series finale that prominently features a toilet overflowing (IYKYK). Some fans appreciated the symbolism while others hated the ending. So it’s a good thing it may not be the end. After all, there are still NYC jokes to tell and Housewives to mention!
And Just Like That executive producer Elisa Zuritsky says, “I don’t like to be too final about things …”

When asked about Carrie Bradshaw possibly returning for more adventures in the future, Elisa gave a hopeful response.
“She’s alive, so it could happen,” she said to TVLine. Insert Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber’s “So you’re telling me there’s a chance …”
Elisa continued, “Sarah Jessica Parker is Michael Patrick King’s muse. And the reason he says ‘I’ve said goodbye before and I’ve come back’ is because it’s true.”
While it’s still King’s call at the end of the day, Elisa remains optimistic. “I don’t like to be too final about things, and life is long, I mean, we’ve seen lots of things happen,” she pointed out.
However, despite staying hopeful about more Carrie in the future, Elisa also admitted that the Season 3 finale “definitely rings the most true” and is a great ending for Carrie’s story.
Overflowing toilets aside, Carrie is in a good place. She’s fully embracing being single and realizing that she’s “not alone. She’s on her own.” It’s poignant and authentic to Carrie’s character and it feels natural that she’d reach this conclusion. “She’s a happy person, living a happy life,” Eliza said. “And that’s a beautiful punctuation mark to life well lived.”
Sarah Jessica Parker also said it was hard to be definitive about saying goodbye to Carrie forever. Only time will tell if she’ll return. In the meantime, we can still enjoy Sarah’s gorgeous fashion at events and maybe even more time with her bestie, Andy Cohen.
