According to the book, The Rise and Fall of the House of York, Prince Andrew is said to have escaped not one but two assassination attempts. If the book is to be believed, it was the royal’s casual attitude to his own security that left him open to repeated threats.
This is not too surprising considering the duke’s previous actions. The disgraced royal has been in the news cycle more than once for a wide variety of reasons. Whether it’s his bad temper or his association with unsavory characters, he is certainly continuing to raise eyebrows, vex the royal family, and allegedly make himself a target.

According to RadarOnline, Prince Andrew was the target of at least two assassination attempts. One by the Argentine military junta and another by the IRA. It’s said that his lax attitude on security is what made him an easier target.
Historian Andrew Lownie is dropping all royal tea in his explosive book. He talks about the alleged attempts on Prince Andrew’s life. And he closely examines the scandals of the King’s younger brother.
Andrew (Lownie) claims that during the aftermath of the 1982 Falklands war, Argentina possibly planned to send commandos to kill the duke while he vacationed with actress Koo Stark in the Caribbean. “The Argentine junta actively explored an assassination mission against Andrew after the Falklands,” the book says. “Intelligence sources claim there was talk of sending a submarine packed with special forces to eliminate him.”
The second plot involved IRA plans to target the duke on a golf course. These were just two of many threats that cropped up during his life.
It looks like giving the royal family headaches isn’t just a recent thing with Prince Andrew. The duke was forced to step down from public duties and stripped of military titles for his association with Jeffrey Epstein. And if rumors are to be believed, Prince William will put his foot down and shut out his uncle entirely. The prince is set to enact harsher policies when he is king.
