After roaming around Los Angeles with no clothes last week, Lil Nas X was briefly hospitalized on suspicion of an overdose before being taken into custody by police. He spent the weekend in jail, but a police report reviewed by TMZ added more color to the story.

The cops said that they received a call about a man wandering around naked on Ventura Avenue in Studio City. Allegedly, the Old Town Road singer charged at the officers and injured three of them. Thus, he faces three charges of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an “executive officer.”

On Monday, August 25, after spending the entire weekend in jail, he entered a not guilty plea, and the judge set his bail at $75,000. Of course, he quickly posted it and was released from jail. TMZ published photos of him jumping into a Jeep, still dressed in his blue jail jumpsuit.

A press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney confirmed the details of the case. They made it very clear that his celebrity status won’t save him from facing consequences. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison.

“Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said. “Anyone who assaults law enforcement will face serious consequences, no matter who they are or how famous they may be.”

For now, Lil Nas X is free while the case plays out in court. His preliminary hearing setting is scheduled for September 15. Stay tuned for updates.
