Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom called time on their relationship earlier this year. The pair had been engaged since 2019 and share a daughter. The split clearly had an impact on the singer, who was seen crying onstage at her concert in Australia soon after.
There could be a big plus for the Firework singer, though. Insiders are saying the break-up could get her ailing career back on track. Speaking to Radar Online, a source close to Katy said: “It’s been an emotional whirlwind, but this split could actually turn out to be the best thing for her. Public sentiment has shifted almost instantly.
“Not long ago she was being criticized as disconnected, but now people see her as someone dealing with real heartbreak, and they’re warming to her again. Her friends even believe this could revive her brand.”
Katy’s career has been on something of a downward trajectory recently. “Woman’s World”, her first single in three years, peaked at number 63 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Tickets for her Lifetimes Tour were also lackluster in a number of cities. Then there was the fallout from that “tone deaf” space flight, which definitely didn’t help her public image.
However, it seems the tone toward her is shifting now. And one person who is definitely on her side is Kim Kardashian. The pair are said to have grown closer following Katy’s split, with talks of going on the hunt for potential suitors together.
