Sky Daily is considering filing a lawsuit against several medical professionals who treated Hulk Hogan. According to the Daily Mail, the recent widow is alleging malpractice which ultimately resulted in the wrestler’s death.

A source told the publication that Sky believes the neck surgery Hulk had in May could have contributed to his sudden passing. It is believed that the claim centers around potential damage to the phrenic nerve, which controls breathing.

Sky told the publication: “We are investigating for possible malpractice. If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick. It’s not something that’s an alarming (sudden) cause of death. It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak.”

This theory could be supported by the 911 calls related to Hulk’s death. In the recordings, Sky can be heard saying: “My husband’s not breathing. He just stopped breathing,” reports TMZ. In addition, a therapist who was at the couple’s home at the time told responders Hulk had damage to his phrenic nerve.

A report by the medical examiner states that Hulk, 71, died following a heart attack. Sky reportedly requested a private autopsy, but hasn’t publicly released the results. Given her alleged plans to sue, the findings of that autopsy could point to something more than a cardiac event.

The reports come days after Hulk’s estranged daughter Brooke stated she had found closure after viewing her dad’s body.
