Wendy Williams is not interested in TV host comeback, despite rumors

For over 30 years, Williams was a renowned media personality famous for her on-air spats with celebrities. She was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009. Williams retired from broadcasting in 2023 after a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
A source told Page Six that she isn’t interested in returning as a TV host. However, she is considering a speaking tour on the topic of guardianship. Her power attorney, Joe Tacopina, said she expressed a desire to expose what she sees as an “abusive” system.
In 2022, Williams was appointed a financial guardian after a New York Supreme Court judge determined it was necessary because of her health problems. Along with her diagnosis’ two years ago, she said in 2018 that she had Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder that affect the thyroid.
“It’s just so unjust, and quite despicable,” said Tacopina. “What she said to me … more than once, is, ‘Joe, I wish I weren’t in this situation … but if someone is going to be in this situation, better me with a platform, so I can expose the system,” the lawyer added.
In June, Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed a lawsuit on her behalf against the judge in her case and her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.
Williams alleges abuse, neglect and fraud in the case of her guardianship. She underwent a cognitive test at a hospital in March. The results will determine the extent or continuation of her guardianship case.
