Katy Perry’s Huge Tour Earnings Revealed After Criticism and Backlash

Katy Perry has been facing talk of poor ticket sales and a lukewarm album over the past year. But it seems the singer may have the last laugh. Her current tour has already netted her a huge sum – with the final total yet to be seen.

Katy Perry has grossed over $80 million in Lifetimes tour ticket sales

They say the best cure for a broken heart is time, but we’re pretty sure millions of dollars wouldn’t hurt. Katy Perry has been having a tricky time recently following her split from Orlando Bloom and reports of a failed comeback. But it seems things are on the up for the star.

Recent figures released by the singer’s management reveal that her Lifetimes tour has earned a seriously impressive $80 million, according to Billboard. And there’s (much) more to come – that sum doesn’t even include her upcoming shows in Europe, China and Latin America. She’s sold 1.1 million tickets to date.

The Lifetimes tour, which kicked off in Mexico in April, has had more than its fair share of criticism. It started with reports of sluggish ticket sales and has continued with snark on everything from the Firework singer’s costumes to the choreography.

Additionally, Katy’s most recent album, 143, received a pretty lukewarm reaction. The lead single, Woman’s World, peaked at a rather embarrassing 63 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Then there was that Blue Origin space flight in April. Katy and her fellow celebrity teammates faced backlash, with claims the event was out of touch and unjustifiable in cost. Even fellow stars including Olivia Wilde and Jessica Chastain spoke out against the flight.

Still, it seems might be finally turning around for Katy. The mom of one is apparently facing revamp to her personal brand, she’s reportedly started dating again, and now she has stacks of cash to dry her tears on. She’s doing just fine, if you ask me.
