Love Island USA Season 6 winners Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales are no longer together. Amaya announced the split on Instagram just two days after the reunion aired. Why did Love Island USA’s Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales breakup?
On Wednesday, August 27, Amaya revealed she and Bryan were over via an Instagram story.
“After leaving the villa, it became very clear that we were on two different journeys,” she wrote. “Our visions didn’t align and relationships are supposed to be a team sport. You don’t have to drink the whole sea to know it’s salty. All love here and I truly wish him the best.”
In an August 2025 interview with People, the former islander opened up about split, telling the outlet she is “still processing.”
“I am very optimistic and very hopeful for the future,” she said. “And I’m just happy to have such a large amount of support around me.”
Bryan also issued a breakup statement on his Instagram story, writing, “Amaya and I have decided to go our separate ways. Unfortunately, we were not on the same page, and that is OK. We both gained clarity that we are on different paths right now.”
Did Amaya or Bryan cheat?
Earlier this summer, Bryan found himself in hot water with fans after a video of him partying with girls went viral on social media. Many fans believed Bryan was being unfaithful to Amaya. The couple set the record straight at the reunion. Bryan admitted his behavior was out of line, but clarified that no cheating took place.
Amaya stood up for him, letting fans know she would not tolerate disrespect.
“I’m also not a woman that would be with someone who doesn’t respect me,” she said. “So if I’m with him and still with him currently, it’s because the relationship dynamic is healthy and great.”
However, Amaya changed her tune after the breakup. She responded to a TikTok in which the User claimed she saw Bryan being flirty with a girl in a Miami club.
“Imagine being broken up with just to come to TikTok a couple of hours later already in (distress) to see he’s in Miami two hours later, doing the exact thing you told him hurt your feelings,” she wrote.
