Kim Kardashian has been facing a lot of heat in recent weeks after she allowed daughter North West to step out in a corset. Now, Bethenny Frankel has weighed in on the debate – and she made her position on the issue very clear.
Bethenny Frankel thinks celebrity kids should always be off limits
Kim and North caused quite a furore late last month during their trip to Italy. After pictures of North wearing a corset and miniskirt hit the internet, many people voiced concern that the outfit was inappropriate for a 12-year-old.
One person who isn’t joining the backlash is Bethenny Frankel. The former RHONY star took to Instagram to say her piece on the matter. She said, “My opinion is that she’s Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s child. It’s a pretty extraordinary parenting structure.”
On North’s controversial outfit, Bethenny, who also voiced her opinions on OnlyFans creators recently, added, “She’s wearing a corset, but you can’t really see anything, she’s 12 years old.”
The SkinnyGirl entrepreneur noted her daughter Brynn’s opinion on the topic, saying, “my daughter doesn’t agree with the expense of the items North wears … the diamonds and the things like that.”
But she also pointed out that people shouldn’t “expect Kim and Kanye’s child to wear ordinary clothing.” She added: “Believe me, if they shopped at T.J. Maxx, you’d be criticizing that.”
Summarizing her opinion, Bethenny said she doesn’t “believe at all in criticizing people’s children”. She stated, “I didn’t like when they did it with Blue Ivy, I didn’t like it when they did it with Housewives, I haven’t liked it when they’ve done it with my own child. Kids are off limits.”
One person who didn’t seem to share Bethenny’s opinion was Supernanny Jo Frost. She commented on Bethenny’s post, writing, “But your [sic] not really giving an opinion B … you are skirting around the topic and question, which is, do parents play a role in teaching their children how to express their own individual style whilst also not sexually objectiving [sic] themselves…?”
