Cardi B Cleared of Assault: ‘I’m Giving a Warning’

Good news for Cardi B! The rapper has been cleared of the assault allegations against her. Speaking outside the courthouse, she hard strong words for anyone considering bringing a “frivolous” case against her in the future.

Cardi B promises to “counter sue” the next person to try her after being cleared of assault

Cardi B was cleared of all charges in the assault case today. The rapper was accused of spitting and scratching a security guard at a doctor’s office in 2018. The claimant, Emani Ellis, had brought the civil case against Cardi, looking for $24 million in damages.

However, the jury at the LA courthouse took just one our to decide on the not guilty verdict. They had heard testimony from the doctor and receptionist at the surgery where the incident allegedly took place, both of whom supported the rapper’s version of events.

While Cardi admitted she and the security guard had got into a shouting match, she denied ever touching the other woman. The WAP rapper, who was four months pregnant at the time, said Emani had been filming her and had invaded her privacy. Emani said Cardi had scratched her face and spat on her, leaving her “traumatized”.

Speaking outside the courthouse, Cardi emphasized her innocence: “I know I’ve got a little reputation, but I swear to god I’m innocent. I’m really innocent for real”, she said in video obtained by ABC News.

She also said that, while she had been “nice” in this instance, if anyone else brought a “frivolous” case against her, she would counter sue. She asked her fans not to harass Emani Ellis following the result.

In true Cardi B style, the day didn’t pass without incident. While speaking to the media outside the courthouse, she threw a marker at a reporter she claimed had disrespected her.
