She even praised the actor’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, for looking after the star after his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2023.

Demi Moore recently opened up about her ex-husband, Bruce Willis’, dementia advancement in an interview. Bruce’s now wife, Emma Heming Willis, was a guest on “The Oprah Podcast” on September 2. She was on the podcast to talk about her new book, “The Unexpected Journey: Finding Hope and Purpose on the Caregiving Path.” While talking to Emma, Winfrey played a clip from a separate interview with Moore, where the two talked about Bruce’s health condition (timestamp: 00.32.55).
In the video, when the host asked Moore about Willis’ “disease”, the actress admitted that it’s “hard to see somebody who was so vibrant and strong and so directed, shift into this other parts of themself.” Hence, as per PEOPLE, the “Margin Call” actress believes that “it’s so important just to meet them where they’re at.”
She also added that, while caring for someone in need, the caregiver should not have any type of “expectation.” This way, one can find that “there is an incredible sweetness and something that’s soft and tender and loving.”
Despite all this, the 62-year-old Hollywood icon firmly believes that the “most important” thing for her is to be present in the current moment, rather than replaying the past, as it “only creates anxiety and grief.” Hence, as per the mom of three, when in the moment, “there’s still so much of him there.” However, “it may not always be verbal, but it is beautiful, given the givens.”
Moore was married to Willis from 1987 till 2000. They have three daughters together — Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. She also shares a good bond with Willis’ current wife Emma. While talking to Winfrey, Moore showed “compassion” for Emma. She praised her for being dedicated to the actor and doing “a masterful job”.
