Nick Hogan wants to block the release of Bubba the Love Sponge’s Hulk Hogan doc
Top of the list of things no one wants to hear about (or have others hear about): their parents sexcapades. Nick Hogan is currently trying to prevent the release of a documentary about his wrestler dad’s infamous sex tape scandal, according to TMZ.
The man behind the offending film? Bubba The Love Sponge. In case you’ve forgotten, he helped make the sex tape. His then-wife was the one who slept with the wrestler (they were reportedly in an open marriage).
Hulk, who passed away in July, later sued both of them after footage of the encounter was leaked. He eventually reached a settlement agreement with them in 2012.
In Nick’s lawsuit against the insensitive doc, he alleges that it infringes on Hulk’s copyrights and trademarks. The lawsuit also mentions that some of the leaked footage of the sex tape features in the documentary’s trailer.
Bubba previously sad he’s going to drop the film, full title “Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal”, later this month.
He has since responded to the lawsuit. In a video posted to his Instagram, the DJ calls Nick as a “dumbass” and asks “how much more money do you need buddy?”. He also claims he is not the owner of the footage, adding “They’re suing the wrong people.”
Bubba shares his last regrets about Hulk
The release of the documentary seems like a strange move from Bubba given that only last month he claimed to regret not having the chance to apologize to the WWE star.
Speaking to TMZ, the radio DJ said: “I’m heartbroken to hear of Terry’s passing. As everyone knows we had our issues and those issues were mostly my fault. I’m saddened that I will never be able to tell him how sorry I am for the way I handled things that created the rift between us. I miss my friend and hope he rests in peace.”
