We’re going to have to wait a little bit longer to find out Steve McBee’s fate. Just days before his sentencing hearing for his role in an insurance fraud scheme, we’ve learned that there’s been another delay in the case. Once again, his sentencing hearing has been postponed. The dark cloud over The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys remains for just a little bit longer.

Steve faces 30 years in prison, and this is the fourth time that the sentencing hearing has been delayed. Last year, he pleaded guilty to a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme, where he submitted false insurance claims about his crop yields. The ongoing FBI investigation loomed over the family throughout Season 2 of the Bravo series.
Steve’s original sentencing date was in March, before being delayed to June. Then, they rescheduled it for Tuesday, September 9. We had it on all of our calendars, but the Feds have now pushed the hearing back to October 16.
In the meantime, the court is moving forward in seeking restitution. When the United States government says you caused them a multimillion-dollar loss, you’d better believe they’re going to figure out how to get it back. According to court records reviewed by DTN/Progressive Farmer, the government wants him to forfeit “all property derived from proceeds traceable to the crop insurance fraud.”
In an August 29 filing, they asked him to fork over three wrist watches: a Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch, a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera watch, and a Rolex Daytona watch. These are estimated to be worth up to $1 million. It’s just a small fraction of the $3.2 million in losses the United States government claims it incurred from Steve’s scheme.
