As Taylor Swift is usually around for all of Travis Kelce‘s games, it came as a surprise when the recently engaged pop icon did not turn up for the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paolo, Brazil, which also marked the season opener. Swift had previously attended most of Kelce’s games, but it seems it was simply more difficult this time around.
Why did Taylor Swift skip Travis Kelce’s game?
While Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce have not addressed why the singer was not present at the game where Kelce got infamously slapped by Teair Tart, some reports seem to indicate why she was missing. As per sources from Daily Mail, Swift missed out on the game because of the enormous amount of preparation and cost it would take to go to Sao Paolo and return after such a short stint.
As per reports, none of the wives and girlfriends of the players went along this time. A source of the portal said, “The travel and the cost and most importantly the security, which goes along with the aforementioned travel and cost, are all the reasons Taylor didn’t go to the game to see Travis play.”
With her soaring popularity, Taylor Swift would also require additional security preparations to travel to any place, which also worked as a roadblock this time around. So, the source claims that ultimately it was the smart thing to do to skip this particular game.
The Chiefs went on to lose this game 21-27, despite receiving a penalty for the slap on Travis Kelce. Quite certainly, Taylor Swift will join her fiancé in the upcoming games, like she did the previous season. Stay tuned for more updates on the couple.
