Julie Chrisley is a woman who knows what she likes. No, we’re not talking about offshore bank accounts, but the reality TV star’s hair. We all know that a great ‘do can lift our spirits. And who needs their spirits lifted more than someone fresh out of prison? Julie recently revealed it was one of her biggest priorities after leaving the clink.
Julie Chrisley always planned to return to blonde hair
You can imagine what a 2.5 year prison stint would do to your locks. Julie recently told People that after suffering the cruel indignity of having to let her natural hair grow out, she was thrilled to go blonde again.
She said: “[Hairstylist] Tyler knew the moment that I was released — whether that was when it happened, thank goodness, or in ’26 when it would’ve happened — he was waiting and ready for me. So I kind of always knew that I was going back.”
Julie and husband Todd Chrisley were convicted of guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud in 2022. Julie was also found guilty of wire fraud. She was sentenced to seven years in prison, but was released in May 2025 after receiving a full pardon from President Trump.
One person who is very happy about Julie’s return to blondedom is Todd. During an episode of the couple’s podcast, he made his feelings on the topic very clear. Very, very, very clear. He joked that he “started thinking about going back” to prison upon seeing his wife’s brown hair.
In an impressive display of tactlessness he also told her she had “set the bar low” and “had to go nowhere but up.” Unsurprisingly, Julie wasn’t thrilled by his comments, stating he “wasn’t very nice.”
