Britney Spears‘ most recent marriage to Sam Asghari ended legally in December 2024. The couple began dating in 2016 and became engaged in 2021. They married the following year and split a few years after that. Through their separation, Britney and Sam remained on good terms. He described his life with Britney as a “blessing” and shared that he would never speak poorly about his ex-wife.
Although he is no longer in a relationship with Britney, he still has her back. Sam hasn’t held back when asked about her ex-husband Kevin Federline‘s upcoming book, You Thought You Knew.
Sam Asghari threw shade at Britney Spears’ other ex Kevin Federline
Kevin’s memoir will hit shelves next month. A paparazzi in Los Angeles recently asked Sam what he thought about the upcoming book, and he didn’t hold back.
“Well, he’s a professional father, so it would be the first book that’ll tell you how to be a professional father,” quipped Sam. The comment was assumed to be spurred by how much Britney was paying in child support to Kevin. Following their divorce, Kevin was granted full custody of their sons, Sean and Jayden. He was receiving up to $40,000 a month from Britney. After their eldest turned 18, the total went down to $20,000. Sam was hinting that he was a professional dad, as he was getting a large sum of money in child support.
Kevin was asked what he thought about the comments made by Sam. He snapped back, per Page Six, “I’m not too worried about what Sam thinks, but I do love the tagline ‘professional father.” He added, “I think every father should strive to be a professional father.”
Kevin’s book is hoping to show another side of him. A description of the book says, “It was his turbulent marriage to pop superstar Britney Spears that made him a household name and triggered a relentless media storm, reducing him to a caricature in a world that barely knew him.”
