This year’s Emmy Awards In Memoriam segment was touching. Tragically, we lost a great deal of stars who made unforgettable contributions to television. Some celebrity deaths hit hard for fans, and this segment is important to them. Stars such as Paul Reubens, Maggie Smith, Quincy Jones, David Lynch, and Michelle Trachtenberg, and more, passed in 2025. The award show honored them in the heartfelt remembrance special.
One special moment during the memorial was a tribute made to Malcom Jamaal-Warner. His Cosby Show castmate, Phylicia Rashad, introduced the segment. She shared a heartfelt message for Malcom. “He was a beloved teenager in an iconic television series who the world watched grow into manhood,” she said. “And, like all our friends and colleagues who transitioned this past year, Malcolm Jamaal-Warner remains in our hearts.”
While the award show honored many actors who are no longer with us, fans were surprised at who they failed to mention.
Which celebrities did the 2025 Emmy Awards in Memorium miss out?
The list of stars who were remembered during the Emmys was special. Lainey Wilson and Gill performed Go Rest High on That Mountain as the names scrolled on the screen. It was a heartfelt way to pay tribute to those who passed away in 2025. Like every award show, some performers did not make it into the segment. For their fans, they were shocked to see their names missing from the list.
A surprising star that was left out of the tribute was Gene Hackman. Although he, along with another left-out star, Val Kilmer, was on a longer list shared online. However, they were not mentioned during the awards program.
Hulk Hogan, who had a long career on television as a wrestler and reality star, was also omitted from the event. Fans were surprised to see him missing from the tribute.
Other stars who are no longer with us, like Jerry Adler, Danielle Spencer, Jonathan Joss, and Terence Stamp, were also missing from the evening.
