Prince Harry has accomplished some eventful endeavors during his recent visit to the U.K. To begin with, he reportedly donated more than $1.1M to the BBC Children in Need charity to help them in their mission. According to sources, his personal donation made him a hero overnight, exposing his elder brother, Prince William’s, “stinginess.”
Sources claim Prince Harry’s personal donation bought him goodwill, says source
As per the latest updates, Prince Harry has gone all out to support his beloved charity, BBC Children in Need. He reportedly donated 1.1 million pounds ($1.49 million) to the organization for their mission. On Tuesday, Harry announced the donation while supporting various charities at the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham.
Soon after, it came to light that the Duke of Sussex made a personal donation instead of a grant from his Archewell Foundation. Due to his massive paycheck, his selfless act is being hailed by many. However, sources told #ShuterScoop that it has also exposed Prince William’s stinginess. As per a charity insider, Harry took this step as he wanted “this about hope and generosity,” adding that “it also sent a message: he puts his own money on the line.”
This selfless act of his younger brother, seemingly, is not sitting well with Prince William’s image. The Prince of Wales, reportedly, pulls in £23 million a year from the Duchy of Cornwall. Despite this, his project, the Earthshot Prize, gives away just £1 million annually, which is also covered by corporate sponsors. Due to this, “Compared to Harry’s personal donation, Earthshot looks small,” as per the source.
Nevertheless, according to Reuters, Harry was delighted to be back in Nottingham. “Nottingham has my respect, it always has, my commitment, and a permanent place in my heart,” said the Duke of Sussex. He even added that he understands his donation alone will not make a drastic difference. He suggested that schools, government, police, and businesses all come together to change the situation.
