At last, one royal relationship has allegedly been mended.
Last week, Prince Harry paid a visit to the UK, attending numerous notable charitable events, including The Diana Award, named after his late mother. Even in his busy schedule, the Prince still had time to meet with his father, King Charles, at his home at Clarence House in their first face-to-face meeting for 19 months.
Tensions within the royal family have been high since Harry stepped away from his royal duties and relocated to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children.
The emotional reunion between Prince Harry and King Charles had “hugs and tears”

There were not a lot of dry eyes between Harry and Charles when they finally met in person.
Their reunion, given all the past tensions between them, was evidently “very emotional” and long overdue. According to US Weekly, the Prince extended an olive branch before meeting his father. “The meeting was sparked by a handwritten letter from Harry earlier this year expressing his desire to reconnect,” the source revealed.
The King’s two sons, Harry and Prince William, have been estranged from one another for years. Charles’ health meanwhile has been in decline. The King was briefly admitted to the hospital in March due to side effects from his cancer treatment.
“They shared a long hug when they first saw each other,” an insider said when Charles and Harry met last week. “Harry started crying, and it was very emotional for both of them. They really missed each other.”
While he’s not been performing royal duties for years, Harry’s had a desire to patch things up with his family. In May, he expressed a willingness to reconcile with his family in a BBC interview. “Life is precious,” said Harry. “I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
Charles is 76 years old and was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024. There’s no word if Harry and his brother William can work through their differences as well.
