Following slightly less than three years of dating, a rep for Kelsea recently confirmed to PEOPLE that she and Chase had parted ways. According to their source, Kelsea and Chase are “two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.”
This update shocked many of their fans, mainly because Chase had just uploaded a glowing montage-like post about Kelsea. To recap, last Friday, the Outer Banks lead went on Instagram to give his recording artist girlfriend a sweet little birthday shout-out. In his caption, Chase wrote, “Although you keep saying you’re not excited for 32, I’d say I’m looking forward to more of this.” Attached to this post were twelve different images, which sampled many of their highs throughout the course of their star-studded relationship.
Now, as to why these two stars broke up, neither one has yet said. Now, let us break down that pesky little rumor. Is Kelsea pregnant? Not as far as we can say, no. However, the name Kelsea and the word pregnancy have trended together before, so that might be why this topic is trending again following their breakup.
Earlier this year, Kelsea postponed several of her upcoming tour dates. Instead of leaving her alone to sort out whatever was going on behind the scenes, some fans took it upon themselves to investigate. Do you see where this is going? Only two months later, Kelsea and the term pregnant started trending yet again, all because Kelsea helped a concertgoer reveal their pregnancy at one of her shows in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “Hello, my name is Kelsea Ballerini, and I’m here to tell you that Maddy’s pregnant! She’s due in November!” Kelsea announced from the stage, sending the crowd into an excited tizzy.
At this point, Kelsea and Chase are not expecting a child together. That is, as far as these two celebrities have shared.
A brief timeline of Kelsea and Chase’s relationship
In January 2023, an image circulated, showing Kelsea cuddled up to Chase at a sporting event. Although the pair hinted that they might be dating after this image went viral, Kelsea and Chase remained tight-lipped about their official status until April 2023. This timeframe is when they hit the red carpet together at the CMT Awards show. And yes, they looked completely loved-up with each other.
The following year, Chase revealed to PEOPLE that he and Kelsea never spent more than three weeks apart. “If we need to make the effort to show up when one’s across the country, we do it,” he said. “The amount of effort that we put into our careers, we should be doubling that in our personal lives.”
Meanwhile, while speaking with Women’s Health that same year, Kelsea explained that her latest album, Patterns, detailed “the nuance[s]” of how she fell in love with Chase. “It’s the in-between moments,” she said.
