Hugh Jackman’s fans are no longer interested in his shows after divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness, says source
Hugh Jackman’s divorce from his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, has reportedly impacted his career. According to Rob Shuter, a source stated that he has been struggling to fill the seats at his Radio City Music Hall concerts. While many claimed it was a case of lack of tourism, the insider hinted that the 56-year-old’s messy split might be the root cause.
They noted that people rooted for Jackman and Furness and saw them as “Hollywood’s forever couple.” Now they seemingly feel “betrayed” and “see him as another star trading in for a newer model.” For those unversed, “The Greatest Showman” star is currently dating Sutton Foster. The insider further claimed, “[Fans] have turned on him — and the box office is showing it.”
Jackman has allegedly been struggling to attract people’s attention to his limited concert residency. He has reportedly leaned on his celebrity friends to save face. Pink might have agreed to make a guest appearance, but the Jonas Brothers have supposedly declined the offer. The “X-Men” alum had his friends and power couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s help in previous shows.
Meanwhile, the source told Shuter that Jackman is apparently calling in “every favor.” However, things seem not to have worked out. “Even star cameos can’t hide the fact that fans see this as karma,” they added. Reportedly, the Saturday daytime show has seen decent sales, but the nighttime slots still have many seats left.
