Lil Nas X Enters Inpatient Treatment Program After Worrying Behavior and Arrest

It’s probably fair to say Lil Nas X isn’t in his greatest era. The musician was arrested and hospitalized last month. But things could be turning around. At a recent court hearing it was revealed that the singer has sought help in the form of inpatient treatment.

Lil Nas X was arrested on August 21 after allegedly hitting a police officer. He is currently facing four charges. A pre-trial hearing was held in Los Angeles on Monday, but the singer was absent. According to Rolling Stone, his lawyers told the court he is currently seeking treatment at a facility in a different state.

The judge noted, “Defendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment,” adding that if the star’s “treatment changes, and he becomes outpatient, then we’ll talk.”

It’s not clear what kind of issues the singer is seeking help for. While there was speculation that drugs may be involved, the star’s father has denied this was the case.

Following the hearing, Lil Nas X’s lawyer told the media that “we’re doing what is best for him from a personal standpoint and a professional standpoint, but most importantly, for his well-being.”

The lawyer continued: “He is surrounded by an amazing family, an amazing team of people that care about him and love him. And we’re just addressing those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, and he’ll continue to have a great life. This is a bump that he’s going to get over.”

Lil Nas X’s next hearing is scheduled for November 18. Reports suggest that if found guilty, the musician could face up to five years behind bars.
