An abrupt ending to And Just Like That was something few cast members had anticipated.
Kristin Davis was one of those surprised by the news. She played Charlotte York Goldenblatt on the show, an art dealer and friend of Carrie Bradshaw, portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker.
The revival and sequel to the popular series Sex and the City finished its run after just three seasons. The final episode aired in mid-August.
Unfortunately, the show couldn’t live up to the expectations of its predecessor. Sex and the City won multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Globes and spawned several movies after its run on TV.
Kristin Davis says the And Just Like That cast were blindsided by it ending

While the show’s viewership was declining with every season, the cast was taken aback by the news that the show was ending.
“Definitely true,” Kristin confirmed to Drew Barrymore when asked if she and the cast didn’t know the show was ending. “Our commitment that we had made was a three-year commitment to each other, so we knew that part, but I just assumed that we were going to keep going. That’s how I am,” Kristin added.
The showrunner, Michael Patrick King chose to end the series while writing the final episode of season three. “It became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” he shared in a statement.
Kristin expressed profound sadness about the shows conclusion and had nothing but love for the cast and everyone who worked on the show. And Just Like That looked at Kristin, Sarah Jessica and Cynthia Nixon’s characters coming to grips with their aging, along with alcoholism, death and gender.
There was a notable absence in the Sex and the City revival show as Kim Cattrall didn’t return. This was due to a feud with Sarah Jessica. She did, however, make a cameo appearance in the season 2 finale.
