Dolly Parton had a kidney stone before missing her Dollywood appearance
Dolly was set to appear at her legendary theme park, Dollywood, on Wednesday. She was to introduce a new attraction coming to the park. When she cancelled the event, her dedicated fans were concerned, especially when it was shared that she had a health issue.
The singer made a video that played at Dollywood and was uploaded to X by a journalist. In the video, she seemed upbeat and kindly told her fans why she was absent.
“I know, I’m here and you’re there and wondering why that is,” she said. “I had a little problem, I had a kidney stone.”
“Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” she continued. “So he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.”
Fans were relieved to see the star was doing well following a health scare. She reassured them at the end of the video, saying, “Don’t worry about me, I’m gonna be ok. Just can’t do it today.”
