Chord Overstreet isn’t above exposing himself for money.
The singer and actor from Glee recently shared some shocking details about an enticing offer he got while on tour with some of his castmates.
His character of Sam Evans on the hit show quickly endeared him to audiences. His good looks also helped, and were something a popular magazine wanted to capitalize on. It turns out Chord got an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Chord and many of his former colleagues on Glee recently reunited for a special episode of The Weakest Link. Fellow Glee alumna Jayne Lynch hosts that game show. The Emmy Award-winning actress took the opportunity to ask Chord about a rumor that he had a 100,000 offer for a very unique gig. “I got asked to do a full-frontal spread in Playgirl,” Chord responded.
Jayne and the other Glee contestants looked stunned upon hearing this revelation. “We shot it, and the images were so…” Chord added before Jane cut him off to confirm he was being sincere. “I love this for you,” joked Heather Morris, who for a time played Chord’s on-screen girlfriend, Brittany Pierce, on the show.
While he says that he “pocketed the money,” Chord adds that his publicist pulled the photos off the rack due to their racy nature. He went on to say that it became the biggest issue Playgirl ever had in terms of preorders and presales.
Jane issued a challenge to audiences everywhere saying: “America, I’m giving you a task. This is your mission, should you choose to accept it. Find those Playgirls!”
It’s not the first time Glee cast members made risqué choices. Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and the late Corey Monteith previously appeared in a controversial set of photos for GQ.
