Priscilla’s upcoming memoir, “Softly, As I Leave you: Life after Elvis” is set to be released on September 23, 2025. In it, the 80-year-old candidly reminisces about her relationship with the Hollywood attorney during the 1970s.
She recalls, “Robert was a sweet man and I liked him.” Reportedly, Priscilla shared that the pair met through a mutual connection. At that particular point of time, her divorce from Elvis was still fresh. She had also gone through a breakup with a karate instructor, Mike Stone.
As mentioned by Priscilla, the relationship was very tender and loving. But the bond did come with its own complications. Robert’s very strenuous career and long working hours left little leeway for romance. Most of all, he was ready to embrace domestic life, while Priscilla wasn’t ready. “He wanted marriage and I just wasn’t in that place yet,” she confessed. Priscilla recollected an old memory, when Elvis called her at 2 A.M. At that moment, she was in bed with Robert, but Elvis was eager to talk to her. She admits, “He’d have gone ballistic, maybe literally”, signalling towards the fact that Elvis was notorious for carrying a gun.
An insider told the U.S Sun that Priscilla doesn’t shy away from any complex aspects of the stories in her memoir. The source said, “Priscilla has always protected certain chapters of her life, but this book shows her as vulnerable and honest. Her time with Robert was brief, but clearly meaningful.”
The Hollywood socialite previously shared her narrative via a book called “Elvis and Me”. Her new book, however, delves deeper into her life beyond Graceland, and the layers she kept up for public appearances.
