All may not be lost for Jimmy Kimmel. According to new reports, Disney is working behind the scenes to get his chat show back on air. The late night chat show was suspended “indefinitely” last week following comments the host made about Trump and MAGA supporters in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s shooting.
Disney have reportedly been in “secret talks” to bring Jimmy Kimmel Live! back

It seems there may be light at the end of the runnel for Jimmy. According to Radar Online, several sources have revealed that Disney, the parent company of ABC, is working to try and pull his show back from the brink. The insiders say negotiations are underway, with Disney looking for “compromises” that would allow Jimmy to return.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled last week after Jimmy made comments about murdered conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest ABC affiliate group, recently issued a number of demands that Jimmy must agree to before it will allow his show to return to air.
It’s also been reported that Jimmy had planned another potentially controversial monologue for Wednesday’s episode. This time, the host had prepared several jokes about Fox News and MAGA supporters. ABC executives asked him to tone the comments down. He refused, which is allegedly what led to the suspension.
The uncertainty has understandably caused worry among the show’s hundreds of staffers. They are apparently being kept in the dark about the situation.
The whole ordeal has sparked a nationwide debate about free speech. A number of celebrities, including fellow chat show hosts, have jumped to Jimmy’s defense. In his opening monologue on Thursday, Seth Meyers accused Trump’s administration of “pursuing a crackdown on free speech”. In a satirical bit, he said: “And completely unrelated, I just want to say before we get started here that I’ve always admired and respected Mr Trump.”
