Gary Busey has finally been sentenced in his groping case. The 81-year-old movie star admitted to touching a woman inappropriately in 2022, after initially denying it happened. The alleged groping took place at a horror film convention in New Jersey.
Gary Busey received two years’ probation for groping a woman
Proving that even elderly men can be creeps, the actor pleaded guilty to inappropriately touching a woman in 2022. He was accused by a number of women of groping at a horror film convention. The women said the actor had grabbed their buttocks and tried to unhook one woman’s bra.
The actor pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact in July this year.
According to documents obtained by Page Six, the actor’s punishment was dealt last Thursday. He was sentenced to two years of probation. It was also revealed that the actor is required to submit a DNA sample and has been barred from contacting two of the victims.
Gary’s attorney, Blair Zwillman, told Page Six: “He is happy to move on from this circumstance in New Jersey, which has led to extremely negative press for over three years — to no fault of his own. He’s retired, he treasures his life as an actor and wants to move forward.”
While he initially denied the groping, the Predator 2 actor admitted “it was not an accidental touching” at a court hearing earlier this year. The unwanted touching is reported to have occurred during a meet and greet at the Monster-Mania Con.
This wasn’t Gary’s first accusation of sexual misconduct. In 2016, a staffer from the Apprentice told the Daily Beast that the actor had assaulted her during his time on the show. She said: “We were smoking cigarettes outside, and Busey was standing next to me. And then at one point, he grabbed me firmly between my legs, and ran his hand up my stomach, and grabbed my breasts.”
