Travis Kelce was fined for “obscene gestures” according to a new report
Travis has been hit with a $14,491 fine for making “obscene gestures” during a game on September 14. To celebrate a 23-yard run against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs star mimed juggling his own testicles. Whatever happened to a nice, wholesome dab?
While the referees didn’t pick up on the incident during the game, it didn’t go unnoticed among NFL fans. After a video of the moment was shared online, many commented to express their frustration that the rule break went unpunished.
One commenter wrote: “Isn’t that taunting? Where is the flag?”
Another added: “I just wanna know what exactly the @NFL considers a taunting penalty? If this was anyone other than Kelce they’d be paying a $33,222 fine…”
A third wrote: “Such a front runner. Obnoxious cellys when he’s up, crying like a baby when he’s down.”
The game was clearly a tense one for Travis. He was spotted telling his teammates “I’m sick of this s––”. The tight end had botched a pass that ultimately allowed the opposing Eagles to score a touchdown. The Chiefs ended up losing the game 20-17.
Clearly the immature behavior isn’t an ick for Taylor Swift. She and Travis are reportedly set on getting married sooner than expected.
Funnily enough, Travis isn’t the only one facing a punishment for inappropriate gestures. Teammate Kareem Hunt was given a flag during Sunday’s game after he celebrated a touchdown with a throat-slashing signal. He is also facing a fine from the NFL.
