A royal author’s book revealed that Prince William and Prince Harry had “cruel” nicknames for Queen Camilla when they were kids. The Daily Mail shared excerpts from Tom Quinn’s book “Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants,” disclosing the slew of names the brothers, as teenagers, had for their stepmother, including “Lady Macbeth, Cruella de Vil, and the Witch of the West.”
Quin cited a servant who disclosed about Harry’s “out of proportion anger” toward the queen, evident in his memoir, “Spare.” He had shared about his “complex feelings about gaining a stepparent” and even described her as “dangerous” in his controversial book. More recently, he even defended his comments in an interview with The Guardian, not long after visiting the United Kingdom earlier this month and reuniting with King Charles after over a year.
Additionally, journalist Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame,” shared more insight into Camilla’s bond with William and Harry. The report mentioned that she “took some time” to develop any kind of relationship with the brothers, despite being a pillar of support for the king — a fact both William and Harry accepted.
Scobie further opined in the book that it was “unimaginable to think that one day William and Kate would meet Charles and Camilla for laugh-filled lunches.” However, things have long changed since then. The Prince and Princess of Wales grew increasingly close to the king and their stepmother, especially after the Sussexes departed. The author claimed that, as for Harry and Meghan Markle, the queen has “great sympathy.” However, she allegedly has “no respect for the way they handled themselves.”
