Prince William ‘Isn’t Buying’ Prince Harry’s ‘Sudden Charm Act,’ Says Insider

Prince Harry’s reconciliation with King Charles hasn’t changed his older brother’s feelings about him.

Harry and his father spent some quality time together during his visit to the U.K. earlier this month, their first face-to-face meeting in over a year. While Harry has expressed a desire to reconcile with his family in the past, Prince William doesn’t believe he’s being sincere.

“William accepted Charles meeting Harry, given the concerns about the King’s health. But he isn’t buying Harry’s sudden charm act,” according to a Buckingham Palace insider.

Tensions have been high between the brothers since Harry moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle. He got out of his royal duties not long before that.

There are plenty of past ills between Prince William and Harry, and healing those old wounds won’t be easy. One source states that Harry requested a meeting with his father and him alone, without William.

The reason, according to the source, was that “he (Harry) worried William’s presence would spark confrontation. Charles agreed, but it only made William more resentful.” It seems as though that move has added to the rift between the two brothers, making William resentful.

“Whatever Charles thinks, William has no plans to let him back in,” a Palace insider said. Harry’s memoir Spare, released in 2023, created more blood between the royal siblings. In the book, Harry shares many tense moments between his wife and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, and details about his brother that William didn’t take kindly to. The book also discussed how the brothers had cruel nicknames for Charles’ wife, Camilla.

While Charles is willing to let bygones be bygones, William, the heir to the throne, isn’t quite so forgiving. “William represents the monarchy’s future. He’s not willing to overlook what’s been said and done,” a source revealed.

During his trip to the U.K. Harry attended many charitable events, including one for the Diana Award, a charity named after his late mother.
