Here’s a sight you probably weren’t expecting to see today: Princess Anne posing in front of racy lingerie. The royal visited a UK garment workshop earlier this month to promote British manufacturing. While there, she posed for a few snaps, much to the delight of people on social media.
Princess Anne visited a lingerie brand’s workshop on a recent royal outing
Anne stopped by the workshop of Edge o’ Beyond in South Wales on September 15. Her visit to the luxury lingerie brand was part of her duties as president of the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association. While there, she unveiled a plaque and learnt about the company’s manufacturing processes.
The underwear brand uploaded several photos from the event on Instagram. Commenters on the post expressed their surprise that a supposedly prudish royal would be seen posing in front of lingerie. The scandal!
One commenter wrote: “This is not a photo I ever expected to see❤️.”
Another added: “The first photo is iconic haha!”
A third said: “Princess Anne supporting women and sexy underwear I LOVE THIS ❤️.”
Heaven knows the British monarchy could do with some good press following recent controversies.
While see-through undies and lacy garter belts may not seem comfortable territory for the Princess, the brand’s owner told the Telegraph that Anne was actually “very cool, very interested in everything,” and she “came across as very feminist.”
That may be taking it a step far for Anne, who previously told Vanity Fair she doesn’t identify as a feminist. However, she has backed various initiatives supporting women; maybe she’s changed her mind?
She has long been a patron of Women into Science and Engineering (WISE), having previously said she would have been an engineer if she wasn’t a royal.
