There’s at least one comedian who’s not happy ABC brought back Jimmy Kimmel.
Roseanne Barr experienced a similar situation as Jimmy with the same network years ago after tweeting about the ethnicity of Valerie Jarrett. Valerie was one of former U.S. President Barack Obama’s senior advisors. Many felt Roseanne’s comments were racist, resulting in the end of the Roseanne revival.
“I’ve been erased from history, from the history of feminism, which that cracks me up,” said the comedian.
ABC suspended Jimmy last week for political comments and the Charlie Kirk assassination remarks, which some people called offensive. His suspension is no more with Jimmy Kimmel Live! returning to ABC on Tuesday.
Roseanne Barr calls out what she says is a “double standard” after Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC return

Jimmy’s reinstatement seems to have struck a chord with Roseanne, evoking painful memories of her own dismissal. “It just shows how they think. It’s a double standard,” Roseanne said to NewsNation.
Roseanne has said that she had no idea Valerie was Black. Jimmy himself even blasted her in one of his opening monologues for his show. Additionally, the host of the Roseanne Barr podcast also referenced Whoopi Goldberg. The Academy Award-winner was in hot water in 2022 for saying the Holocaust was not about race. She spent two weeks off The View before returning to the ABC program. Roseanne calls that proof that ABC would protect: “Their lowest rated shows for their shareholders and destroy their highest rated shows for their shareholders.”
The Roseanne revival had been ABC’s highest-rated show before its termination.
In 2023, Roseanne performed a comedy special titled Cancel This!
