Cardi B has addressed the rumors that she was a music industry plant. The rapper laughed off claims in a recent interview that “higher-ups” in the industry sent her to destroy someone’s career. And given the years of bickering, we can probably assume she was referring to Nicki Minaj.
Cardi B is “done” with Nicki Minaj beef; they “just didn’t get along”
Cardi B spoke to Alex Cooper on Wednesday’s episode of Call Her Daddy. During the podcast, she responded to the years-long gossip that “higher-ups” in the music industry planted her to disrupt the hip hop scene.
“People have made this whole story that I came in the industry to take over somebody’s career. I never thought about that… I just wanted to become famous at what I like to do.”
The rapper then seemingly referred to the beef between her and Nicki Minaj. She added: “Sometimes people just don’t get along with each other”.
Cardi may have avoided the specifics of her beef with Nicki during the interview, but she had plenty of other TMI snippets for us. She revealed that the butt piercing she got earlier this year cost $13,000. And that cash went right down the crapper – literally – as she lost the diamond stud down the toilet.
She also addressed other rumors, including one that her boyfriend left her because her “BBL stink”. In true Cardi style, she didn’t hold back on shutting the gossip down. She said: “the way this ass getting eaten, it can’t be. I’m very anal about how I smell.”
Cardi also took on a dare to prank call a fellow celeb during the interview. She chose to call Lizzo, and putting the singer on speaker phone, asked for her help to make a clean version of a raunchy lyric. Lizzo accepted the challenge, saying “Okay, I’ma think about it.”
