Chris Jones comments on Travis Kelce amid Andy Reid incident
After the Chiefs failed to have their dream start to the season, the team had a Week 3 win over the New York Giants. But things got quite heated on the sideline, as Travis Kelce and Andy Reid engaged in a fiery exchange.
This has happened before, with Kelce having initiated most of the exchanges. But this time, it was Reid who raised his voice at Kelce after a first-half miscommunication. The Chiefs have struggled to find offensive consistency in the opening games this season.
The incident went viral as many fans shared the clips of Kelce’s heated exchange with Reid. Reid, however, later admitted that he had no problem with the exchange as he is aware of Kelce’s competitive nature.
Chris Jones gave his opinion on the incident as he spoke to KC Sports Network. He said, “Travis is a fierce competitor… sometimes in the heat of battle, emotions show,” he added, “Sometimes we have confrontations, whether it’s with coaches or players, but I think it’s all out of competitive spirit.”
Reid quickly addressed the incident after the game, saying, “He’s a passionate guy and I love that part,” he added, “I’ve been through a lot of things with him, that’s all part of it. I love that he loves to play the game.”
Kelce and Reid joined the Chiefs in 2013 and have been pivotal in their success ever since.
