But it turns out, the pictures were not from the Gomez wedding. Swifties soon got to work and debunked the photos, sharing the source of the viral snap.
The image posted on X (formerly Twitter) shows the “Fearless” singer in a burgundy floor-length gown, helping a bride. Many fans thought it was a rare inside picture from the Gomez and Blanco wedding and felt overjoyed. But Swifties were quick to clarify that the images were, in fact, from Swift’s longtime best friend, Abigail Anderson. She got hitched in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.
The followers beelined in the comment section to debunk the photo, with one fan saying, “that’s Abigail’s wedding not selena’s.” While another individual also supported the fact, mentioning, “This was Abigail’s wedding.” Many other Swifties also said that it’s a “2017 image.”
As per Billboard, Swift’s bestie, Abigail Anderson, got hitched on Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. The 35-year-old was present at the event to support the wedding of her friend.
While the inside pictures from Gomez’s wedding are yet to be out, sources did tell People that both Swift and Ed Sheeran gave speeches during their wedding reception in California on September 27. “At the reception, everyone was letting loose and celebrating them well into the night,” the source said, adding that “The vibe was so much fun.”
Revealing more details of the fairytale nuptial, the insider gushed that the newlyweds “were glowing all night, and both Selena and Benny couldn’t stop smiling. There was so much love in the room.”
