Travis Kelce said he “loves” Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, despite their on-field spat a week ago. The NFL star addressed questions from the media for the first time since the controversial incident.

In a report published by The Kansas City Star, he responded, “I love that guy, man. There’s nothing outside of this building that’s going to make me feel any different way. We know exactly each other’s intentions.”

He also spared a few words of praise for Reid, stating that he brings out the best in everyone. In fact, Kelce’s own game has improved because of Coach Reid. Previously, Reid also heaped praise on Kelce. “I love Travis’ passion.” However, neither party divulged the exact reason for their showdown during their interaction with the press.

On September 21, the Kansas City Chiefs were playing against the New York Giants when Kelce walked up to Coach Reid and yelled in his ear. The head coach tried to shove him away as the two men got into a heated on-field argument (via Complex).

Commentator Mike Tirico was quoted as saying, “Andy Reid and Travis Kelce. We’ve seen them before kind of get heated there. You can sense the frustration on both sides of that story.”

The duo had previously fought on the field during Super Bowl LVIII in February last year. At the time, Coach Reid defused the situation by heaping praise on the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, “Don’t make too much of it. He’s a passionate guy and I love that part” (via NBC Sports).

Notably, on September 28, the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Baltimore Ravens.
