A new breakthrough has been made in the Celeste Rivas Hernandez case. The Los Angeles Police Department believe the 14-year-old’s body had been in the trunk of d4vd’s car for several weeks. The musician still hasn’t been named a suspect in the case.
Police say Celeste Rivas Hernandez was likely “dead for several weeks” before being found in d4vd’s Tesla

It’s been three weeks since the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in a Tesla belonging to musician d4vd, real name David Burke. But progress has been slow so far. LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams told People that “we know for sure that Celeste Rivas Hernandez died and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke’s Tesla.”
He added: “We know that the Tesla had been parked at the location from which it was towed for several weeks, so it is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered.”
No cause of death has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. As a result, “we don’t know for sure if anyone has any criminal culpability for her death beyond the concealment of her dead body,” the captain added.
d4vd moved out of the property he was renting soon after Celeste’s body was found. Several electronic devices were reportedly removed from the property by the police.
Celeste’s body was found inside the Tesla in a Los Angeles parking lot on September 8. The car had been reported abandoned by local residents. d4vd was on tour when the body was found. There’s been much speculation that the teenager was in a romantic relationship with the 20-year-old musician. He has not been charged with a crime in connection with the case.
