After 19 years together, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are breaking up.
The couple who wed back in 2006 have two children together. While news of this split is coming to light for many fans for the first time, it’s not new to the couple and their children. Sources suggest the pair have been living apart since the start of the summer.
Over the summer, Nicole had been busy filming the sequel to Practical Magic, in which she will reprise her role as Gillian Owens. Keith, meanwhile, spent the summer doing concerts on his High and Alive Tour.

Divorce is something Nicole is familiar with. She and Tom Cruise ended their marriage, which had lasted over a decade, during which they adopted two children.
Having kids to comfort is something she had to do back then and is reportedly doing once again. Following news of her separation from Keith, a source told TMZ that Nicole is “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.” Nicole had reportedly been trying hard to save the marriage, though reports indicate it was mostly a one-sided battle.
Knowing there’s no chance it can work anymore, Nicole has filed for divorce. Their separation comes as a surprise, given how glowingly the two spoke of one another in the press. Those close to the country music superstar, however, have apparently felt that a breakup between the two was inevitable for some time. The couple celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary only a few months ago. This will be Keith’s first divorce.
Their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, are 17 and 14 years old, respectively. Nicole is currently taking care of the kids while Keith is still on the road performing concerts. Keith’s next show on tour is Friday at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Practical Magic 2, starring Nicole, is set to release in September 2026.
