Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, have gone their separate ways after nearly two decades of marriage. PEOPLE confirmed their separation on Monday, September 29. According to a source, the actress is now relying on her family members, especially on her younger sister, Antonia Kidman, to navigate through such a difficult time.
“Nicole’s sister has been a rock, and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” the sources told the outlet. The “Family Affair” star shares a close bond with her sister, having faced challenging times together. Speaking about their relationship, the 58-year-old actress told The Sydney Morning Herald in 2020, “If you have a sister, as a woman, it’s such a blessing because there’s this closeness where you can really delve into another woman with safety.”
She further added that they are “almost twins” and have “been through a lot. I showed up for her and she showed up for me. That’s a lovely thing to have,” the actress concluded. The sisters are now facing a challenging time together once again.
TMZ first reported that the actress and the 57-year-old singer have broken up and have been living separately. Sources told PEOPLE that the Australian actress “didn’t want” the separation, revealing that “She has been fighting to save the marriage.” However, they ultimately called it quits.
The former couple got married in 2006 and share teen daughters Sunday and Faith. They celebrated their 19th anniversary in June, which Kidman marked by sharing a loved-up picture on Instagram with a caption, “Happy Anniversary Baby.”
