Diddy Gets Fresh Blow From Judge With Two New Rejections

A judge has thrown a spanner in the works for Diddy. The disgraced musician was hoping to have his prostitution-related charges thrown out and a new trial. Judge Arun Subramanian rejected his request, saying there’s plenty of evidence against him.

Diddy had some bad news this week. His request for a new trial and his prostitution-related charges to be overturned was denied. In a 16-page order, the judge stated that there’s sufficient evidence that he violated the Mann Act, per TMZ.

The charges are related to Diddy allegedly transporting male escorts across state lines to participate in his “freak-offs”. These sex parties reportedly involved male prostitutes being paid to have sex with Diddy’s girlfriends while he watched. Singer Cassie, who claimed she was forced to participate in the acts, wrote an emotional letter to the judge earlier this week.

In his mission to get the prostitution charges thrown out, Diddy had argued that the Mann Act’s language and how it’s applied have evolved over the past century. The judge agreed, but said it was irrelevant as his actions clearly fall within what the law was meant to prohibit. The judge added: “Unsurprisingly then, his conviction raises no constitutional problem.”

Diddy’s team also challenged the definition of prostitution, even though the jury had been given the judge’s definition at trial. “The correct definition of prostitution in the Mann Act is sex in exchange for money or its equivalent,” the judge wrote. “That definition poses no constitutional problem.”

Diddy’s defense team previously urged for a light sentence that would basically see him walk free after the court hearing this week. They described the conditions at the jail where the media mogul is being held as inhumane.
