Prince William and Kate Middleton may be embracing a new chapter, but not everyone is happy about it. The couple’s upcoming move to Forest Lodge is ruffling feathers among locals. Many neighbors say they’re already fed up with the royals’ security measures.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new home has forced area closures

William and Kate are preparing to move into Forest Lodge in Windsor. The eight-bedroom house is said to be the family’s “forever home” – even once William becomes king.
Local residents aren’t exactly thrilled about having royals in their midst, though. Apparently, new security measures have caused quite a bit of upset. This includes the closure of a 2.3-mile perimeter previously accessible to locals. According to The Times, the area has been closed off since last week, and anyone found trespassing risks arrest.
The publication notes that neighbors no longer have access to the Cranbourne Gate entrance and parking lot of Windsor Great Park – something they pay $150 per year for.
One local voiced their frustration to The Sun: “Many of us have been walking our dogs here for 20 years, so to be told we can’t any more is a kick in the teeth. We pay annually towards the upkeep of a park, but we are no longer going to be allowed to use part of it.”
Another added: “Obviously, it’s disappointing as my dog loves it here. We come here every couple of weeks, and we’re going to have to find somewhere else now for him to get the miles in.”
Other security measures include the installation of CCTV and more trees being planted in the surrounding area.
It was previously reported that the royal couple may have forced several local residents to vacate their homes. But it now seems there were no eviction notices, and the tenants have been rehoused in other royal properties within Windsor Great Park, per People.
