It seems all may not be well in paradise. Sources say things aren’t looking good between Ariana and Ethan. There were reports last month that the couple’s relationship was on the rocks, and things allegedly haven’t gotten any better.
Insiders claim that Ariana’s packed schedule and jetsetting lifestyle are taking a toll on Ethan, who allegedly “sometimes wonders if he should have stayed in his quieter world,” per The Mirror.
A source told the Daily Mail: “The contrast is brutal. He loves her, but he’s drowning in the circus of her life. He’s used to a controlled Broadway stage, not sold-out arenas screaming for every move. Even when he’s home, he’s mentally halfway through the tour or rehearsals. It’s exhausting just watching him try to keep up.”
The couple was last seen together publicly in April. Ethan was notably missing from her entourage at the MTV VMAs last month, where she scooped three awards.
The beginnings of the couple’s relationship was messy to say the least. The pair met while filming the Wicked movie, with both being married at the time. The romance drew criticism from fans, and Ethan’s former wife Lilly branded Ariana “not a girl’s girl”.
A split any time soon could be pretty awkward – the pair are set to promote the highly-anticipated Wicked sequel. The movie, Wicked: For Good, is scheduled for release on November 21, and also stars Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum.
