Blake Lively showed support for Taylor Swift in an unexpected way

Swift marked the release of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” with a heartfelt Instagram post. She captioned the post beautifully, describing that she feels proud to share this album with everyone.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right. A forever thank you goes out to my mentors and friends Max and Shellback for helping me paint this self portrait. If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain… The Life of a Showgirl is out now,” she wrote, also giving a nod to her longtime producers.

Among the many reactions, fans noticed that the singer’s former friend, Lively, had “liked” the post to subtly show support for the singer.

The album’s release also fueled speculation that the track “Ruin the Friendship” could be a reference to Swift’s relationship with Lively. However, Page Six reported that the song is not believed to be about the duo’s rumored fallout.

Taylor and Blake were quite close before. They were often spotted together at events. While Lively attended the singer’s concerts, Swift, too, made reference to the actor in her songs.

However, their friendship hit a rough patch in late 2024, when Lively filed a lawsuit against actor Justin Baldoni. After Baldoni countersued in 2025, Swift’s name surfaced in legal filings, drawing her into the dispute as well.

While their friendship may have faced turbulence, Lively’s support for Swift’s album shows that all may still be well between the two.
