Charlize Theron attended the Dior show at Paris Fashion Week recently. So did Johnny Depp, but it seems Charlize wasn’t too bothered about that. In a video posted to social media, the actress seems to give the Edward Scissorhands star the cold shoulder… awkward.
Charlize Theron appeared to ignore Johnny Depp at last week’s Dior show
In a short clip posted since the event, Charlize can be seen greeting Brigitte Macron – the wife of Emmanuel Macron – and French entrepreneur Bernard Arnault. Johnny is stood next to them, and seems to look in the actress’ direction as if waiting for a greeting.
However, the actress – wearing a rather risqué outfit – passes by without so much as a glance in his direction.
To be fair, it’s not clear if the snub was intentional. Perhaps Charlize just didn’t see Johnny, or assumed he was method acting as a coat stand. As one source told TMZ, the event was “super hectic.”
The pair worked together on The Astronaut’s Wife, but hey, we don’t all stay in contact with our coworkers after 25 years. The pair are both ambassadors for Dior nowadays, with Charlize previously starring in the J’Adore ads and Johnny promoting the fashion house’s Sauvage aftershave.
The internet’s reaction to the mishap has been divided. In a Reddit post, one commenter says on the apparent snub: “I would too. He’s gross.”
Another added: “I wonder why the hate towards Johnny Depp is still there if he won his trial?”
One of the X accounts pointed out that Charlize previously “liked” a 2023 Time article about Depp’s controversial comeback. Since his defamation trial ended in June 2022, Depp has been easing back into the spotlight, starting with the 2023 French film Jeanne du Barry, where he played Louis XV.
