Last Friday, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Sean “Diddy” Combs learned his fate. However, once his judge announced the verdict, many celebrities started chiming in. These stars knew Diddy well. But all of them felt happy that this music mogul received more than just a time-served type of penalty.
Despite his pleas for mercy, Judge Arun Subramanian decided to send Diddy to jail. In response, here’s what each of these vocal celebrities had to say.
Diddy’s sentencing led to many celebrity reactions

In July, Diddy received a guilty verdict for two counts of transportation for prostitution. However, he did get acquitted of other serious charges, such as racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking accusations. Now, due to these absolved charges, his attorneys requested a 14-month sentence, which equals the time Diddy has already served. So, in their plans, Diddy would be a free man following his sentencing hearing last Friday.
But Judge Subramanian had a different plan in mind. Instead of a 14-month sentence, he slapped Diddy with 50 months in prison. To date, Diddy has already served 14 months, since he has been in jail ever since his arrest in 2024. So, Diddy could be released as early as late 2028.
Regardless, pending any appeals, Diddy will now serve out this sentence in jail. And this is what his peers have to say about this verdict.
50 Cent poked fun at Diddy
Ahead of Diddy’s sentencing, rapper 50 Cent penned a letter to his judge. “I have had an ongoing dispute with Puffy for over 20 years. He is very dangerous. Multiple times, I have feared for my life,” he wrote and shared on X.
Meanwhile, Diddy and his team failed to take 50 Cent or his letter seriously. Instead, Diddy reportedly booked multiple speaking engagements in Miami, all slated for this week. After all, he and his team anticipated his immediate release on time served. But when that failed to happen, 50 Cent clocked in to troll Diddy online.
On X, Fifty shared a sketch of Diddy crying in the courtroom during his sentencing. In his caption, the rapper joked, “Hey, to whoever was booking Diddy for speaking engagements. I heard he won’t be able to make it. I’m available!”
50 Cent approves of Diddy’s sentence, needless to say.
Aubrey O’Day posted a lengthy response in support of Diddy’s alleged victims

Aubrey O’Day, a former member of Diddy’s all-girl band, Danity Kane, has often spoken out against her former mentor. She has also loudly confirmed her support of Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex. During his trial, Cassie bravely took the stand to speak of the abuses she reportedly endured at his side. Aubrey, however, did not testify, although she did sit for a meeting with Homeland Security during the initial investigation.
The process of turning against Diddy scared Aubrey. But now that Diddy has learned his fate, Aubrey is breathing slightly easier. In a statement shared on X, Aubrey noted that she hopes his sentence might “serve as a cautionary reminder to young and aspiring individuals pursuing their dreams.” Instead of basking in the privilege of an A-lister, Aubrey hopes that all hopeful stars will “protect” themselves when working with those “in a position of power.”
Regarding his sentencing, Aubrey admits that she is “still unpacking the magnitude of it all,” since “The cultural weight of this decision is immeasurable.” But overall, Aubrey thinks his victims’ stories fell “short in the eyes of [his] jury.“ Now, she “can only hope these jurors never have to watch someone they love endure what so many survivors have described.”
Michael Che joked about Diddy’s sentencing on SNL
The day after Diddy’s sentencing dropped, actor Michael Che appeared on Saturday Night Live. Here, he used his Weekend Update platform to give a tongue-in-cheek nod to this case.
“Sean Combs was sentenced on Friday to four years in prison. And I’ll be honest, it’s hard for me to watch someone I love get punished, but that’s what Diddy would do,” Michael said, as his live studio audience responded with laughter. Michael then ended his bit, saying, “During Sean Combs’ sentencing, he pleaded for mercy, saying that the things he did were ‘disgusting, shameful, and sick,’ in fact, just thinking about it makes him harder than grandma’s candy.”
Sharay Hayes thinks Diddy’s judge sent a clear message

Sharay Hayes, an exotic dancer otherwise known as The Punisher, was a witness against Diddy in his trial. While speaking with TMZ, Sharay admitted that, at first, he believed Diddy should have only received a brief sentence, one that his time served could have covered. However, Sharay changed his mind once he heard everything Judge Subramanian had to say. “He is trying to protect victims and deter others from such outrageous – and illegal – behavior,” Sharay explained.
However, when speaking to The Daily Mail, Sharay confessed that he feels bad for Diddy and his family members. “I don’t want to invalidate anything the victims went through,” Sharay stressed, noting, “This is a man who did terrible things. But the world is so harsh because everybody thinks [Diddy’s] remorse is not real. This guy’s life — his fall from grace — is a devastating circumstance. I have a ton of empathy, and I actually feel very sorry for the guy.”
