Travis Kelce Publicly Praises Blake Lively Amid Taylor Swift Drama

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce stirred up the internet after praising Blake Lively on their New Heights podcast, right when rumors about a fallout between Lively and Taylor Swift were at their peak.

The Kelce brothers discussed Blake Lively’s 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as part of their “New Heights Film Club.” Jason Kelce said, “For a movie in this age range…surprising level of acting. It was well done, Blake Lively, America Ferrara kills it as Carmen, Alexis Bledel.”

Travis Kelce added, “She killed it.” He also pointed out that running and speaking lines simultaneously takes serious stamina: “It was impressive that she has good endurance, though, because to be running like that and to be talking.” Jason joked about her “not the best run,” but quickly followed it with, after Travis, “I agree 1000 percent very impressive.”

Their casual chat about the movie would’ve passed quietly if not for the timing. The episode dropped right after Taylor Swift released her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, with fans dissecting possible lyrical jabs aimed at Blake Lively.

The friendship between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively reportedly hit a rough patch earlier this year. Lively’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni allegedly pulled Swift into the mix when Baldoni’s countersuit mentioned her name. Although Swift’s subpoena was later dropped, fans noticed the two women stopped publicly interacting afterward.

Things escalated when Swift’s new song “Cancelled!” included lines like “Good thing I like my friends cancelled / I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal.” Many listeners think it hints at Lively.

Travis Kelce, meanwhile, unfollowed Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, a few months ago, which fans took as him quietly taking Swift’s side. He and Jason praised Lively right after Swift’s album release, and it got the internet talking.
