Offset has made some heartfelt confessions about his marriage to Cardi B. In his recent appearance on Keke Palmer’s podcast Baby, This is Keke Palmer, the rapper admitted to making “a lot of mistakes” in his relationship with the Grammy-winning star.
Offset says he ‘made a lot of mistakes’ in his and ex Cardi B’s marriage
During the interview, Offset got candid about his divorce from Cardi B and shared his regrets. The rapper opened up about all the things he wished he had done during his seven-year marriage to the Punteria singer.
“I should’ve respected her way more, you know what I mean,” he admitted to Palmer. “I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out,” he added. The Migos alum went on to say, “That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin, cuz like I could have been way… we got so much our kids to live for.”
Offset continued to share his regrets, saying, “I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.” The Ric Flair Drip rapper discussed how issues from both sides had a negative impact on their relationship. “I made a lot of mistakes. [There’s] a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things that was wrong.”
The confession comes just a day after Cardi B talked about the divorce on the October 6 episode of the Jay Shetty podcast. “I felt the love dying. From my end, from his end, I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely,” the rapper had shared.
“It took months for the heart to say, ‘You’re done.’ Instead of my mouth and my brain. My heart had to be like, ‘You’re done.’ Because you could say it and you could take actions, but even if you take actions, if you’re not done, you’re not done,” the 32-year-old added.
Cardi B and Offset had secretly tied the knot in September 2017, a month before publicly announcing their engagement. They share three kids, Kulture, Wave, and Blossom. After seven years of marriage, the Bodak Yellow rapper officially filed for divorce in July 2024. However, it has yet to be finalized.
Meanwhile, Cardi B is currently pregnant with her first child with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
