In her new interview with Vogue, the actress revealed that both her mother and grandmother were talented seamstresses and would sew and stitch clothes for her as a child. This also ignited a deep love and passion for fashion in Kidman from a young age.
“They’d stand me up on the table… doing the hem and checking the collar. And they could embroider,” she stated. The mega movie star and fashion icon confessed with a child-like enthusiasm that dress fitting “makes me feel like I’m four.” “I feel pretty, and I don’t always feel pretty,” she confessed candidly.
Later, the interviewer asked Kidman if fashion was armor, and she replied affirmatively. “Sometimes it’s armor,” she replied. “Sometimes it’s playful, sometimes it’s sexy. It just depends on my mood. Sometimes it’s androgynous, sometimes it’s kind of, screw you,” Kidman revealed.
