Taylor Swift joked about Travis Kelce’s hilarious confusion involving Hugh Grant and Greta Gerwig. Swift guested on Seth Meyers’ show Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, October 8, and narrated this humorous incident where Kelce confused the Barbie director with the British actor’s wife.
Last year in June, Kelce met Grant and his wife Anna Eberstein in the VIP tent of the Eras Tour in London. Kelce mistook Anna for Gerwig and congratulated her on the tremendous success of the film Barbie and how much he loved it.
Kelce even made an “I’m just a Ken” joke to add to his sincere congratulations, assuming he was actually congratulating director Gerwig on Barbie’s success.
The Chiefs’ tight-end narrated his encounter to Swift and confessed Gerwig did not respond to his “I’m just a Ken” joke. At the time, Swift simply assumed that Gerwig had heard the joke too many times and didn’t find it funny at all.
Kelce also told the popstar that he saw Grant and Gerwig dancing really closely all night and “had all these inside jokes.” Kelce further revealed to Swift that “They kind of seem like they’re like soulmates.”
Furthermore, he revealed to Swift that he enjoyed dancing and grooving with a family. Upon checking the videos, it was revealed that the Chiefs’ tight end had actually danced with Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Eberstein. He mistook Anna Eberstein for Greta Gerwig.
In response, Seth Meyers quipped, “The good thing is, he recognized true love. He saw soulmates, and he knew you were soulmates.”
